A WORLD CHAMPION FOR THE JOINT PHYSICAL TRAINING SPORT AND RECREATION TRAINING CENTRE (JPTSR).

The first world champion was crowned for the JPTSR Training Centre at the JSKA (Japan Shotokan Karate Association) World Karate Championships that were held at the Sport Centre of the University of Pretoria. Maj AndrŽ J. Kok took part in five divisions. He received gold medals in three of the divisions and silver in the remaining two. Eight months of hard work, training and dedication led to the achievement of his goals and dreams. The reward he received was five medals. In an interview Maj Kok said that he just wanted to win two medals, but with hard work and some luck he earned himself five medals. Maj Kok gives credit to the fact that the Officer Commanding of the Centre, Col P. Theunissen, and all the staff members knew that he was training for the championships and gave him their full support. Maj Kok is looking forward to the next championships in Mexico
